Thailand has officially issued an arrest warrant for Supachai Duangdee and is fully committed to cracking down on telecom fraud crimes and rescuing the victims. This operation demonstrates the firm determination of the Thai government. The military and police forces will comprehensively combat criminal networks and completely eliminate the telecom fraud gangs.

As this case pertains to a crime committed abroad, the prosecutor will be in charge of controlling the investigation. The personnel from the Special Case Department came to discuss this matter with the Deputy Prosecutor General because the above-mentioned forces were suspected of being involved in trafficking Indian victims to the Mueawa District for engaging in telecommunications fraud. After being rescued by the Thai authorities, it is necessary to consider prosecuting the relevant personnel of this operation.

The Special Investigation Department further disclosed that the victims of the aforementioned human trafficking operation were seven Indians, and Thailand was used as a transit point, similar to the previous case involving Chinese actor “Xingzhi”. It is currently confirmed that about two more Thais were involved in the operation.

As for the three main individuals proposed for arrest warrants, they are Colonel Saw Chit Thu (the leader of the BGF of the Karen Border Guard Force in Myanmar), Lieutenant Colonel Mote Thone, and Major Tin Win, as well as the owner of the Myawaddy Casino.

When Thai Minister of Justice Thawee was interviewed by media reporters and asked whether he would make use of the cooperation among ASEAN groups to extradite Sukhum and related individuals, he said that it was considered as a (feasible) channel for cooperation.

When asked how they would bring back the above-mentioned individuals given that the Myanmar government was unable to control the ethnic minority areas, Thaw said that they would coordinate with ASEAN and China for cooperation.

In response to this, the reporter asked whether there was any chance to witness the joint large-scale operation to arrest the above-mentioned individuals. Tawee merely briefly replied: “The Thai government is serious.”
