Power outage in Thailand has achieved the desired effect!!

The police are planning to establish an “International Coordination Center” to deal with the fugitive fraudsters!

On February 10th, General Thakchai, the Chief Inspector of the National Police Department of Thailand, led a team to the Immigration Bureau office in Lamphun Province. The aim was to follow up on the anti-crime campaign against telecom fraud and human trafficking gangs in the Thai-Myanmar border area, and to hold a meeting with the local special forces.

At the meeting, relevant personnel reported on the progress of the situation after the Thai authorities issued the order to cut off power supply and prohibit oil exports to Myanmar. They stated that, initially, certain achievements had been made and the electricity consumption in the areas where Chinese illegal enterprises were located had significantly decreased.

As it is known, recently due to the heavy pressure faced by the telecommunications fraud gangs, many people have fled from the base to the border areas of Thailand. Thaksin also mentioned the matter of establishing an “International Coordination Center” in accordance with the coordination suggestions from the Chinese side.

He said that the aforementioned center will be established by the National Police Department of Thailand. The working mode will be to exchange information regarding missing persons or those who might have gone to engage in telecommunications fraud, as well as other matters, including the coordination and exchange of information between the Thai police and those of other countries.

Because there is no basic information on missing persons in Thailand, all the relevant nationals from countries including Myanmar who are missing will be included. For dealing with the fleeing fraudsters, the border command center has also formulated various measures.

According to Thai media reports, Tachai disclosed in an interview after the meeting that victims of telecom fraud in Myanmar came from as many as 30 countries/regions, which had an impact on Thailand’s image.

In any case, the Thai police are willing to offer their full assistance. Whether there are any information leads or requests for help, they will do their best. The establishment of the coordination center in this area is also to facilitate contact with relatives more conveniently.
