As the Spring Festival of 2025 is approaching, the Chinese Embassy and consulates in Myanmar remind Chinese citizens and Chinese enterprises in Myanmar and those planning to come to Myanmar to raise their security awareness and beware of various security risks.

1. Maintain personal and property safety
   Plan your trip properly, avoid going to areas with high security risks, do not enter areas where foreigners are prohibited or restricted, and be careful to go to crowded places and areas with poor security. Reduce travel alone at night, ensure that the phone battery and phone charge balance is sufficient, and avoid being unable to contact others in an emergency. Keep your passport and other identity documents properly. If your passport is stolen, please contact the embassy or consulate in time to reissue your travel document. Avoid carrying large amounts of cash or checking property in public, beware of robbery and theft, if accidentally stolen, please call the police in time.
2. Pay attention to traffic and food safety
   Never drive without a license, under the influence of alcohol, tired or over the speed limit. Choose regular transportation and try to travel in groups. When going out, be alert to suspicious people and vehicles, do not place valuables in a prominent position in the car, and do not open the window to talk or stop halfway when driving. Pay attention to food hygiene, try to choose a restaurant with good health conditions, it is best to drink bottled water.
3. Guard against telecom network fraud
   Recently, telecom fraud cases involving our citizens are frequent, please be vigilant and strictly prevent. Do not believe that online platforms overseas high-salary recruitment, free outbound travel and investment, brush single rebates and other information, to ask for identity card numbers, bank accounts and other private information and transfer, remittance requirements to be highly vigilant, do not click on the unknown network links, do not rashly transfer money, to avoid falling into fraud and electricity traps.
4. Follow local laws and customs
   Understand and strictly abide by local laws and regulations, and do not participate in illegal activities such as “sex, gambling and drugs”. Do not believe illegal marriage intermediary, should go through the formal channels for marriage registration and other procedures. Pay attention to the length of stay of the Myanmar visa on your passport, and if necessary, extend it in time to avoid overstaying. Do not take large amounts of kyat out of the country. The purchase of jewelry, jade and other goods should be timely to the business to ask for formal invoices, in order to prepare for exit customs verification. When entering Buddhist temples and visiting Buddhist pagodas, you should take off your shoes and socks and pay attention to your dress. In case of conflicts and disputes, they should respond rationally and calmly, express their demands reasonably and legally, follow legal channels to defend their rights, and consciously safeguard the good image of Chinese citizens.
5. Work safety and risk prevention
   Chinese-funded enterprises in Myanmar should strengthen their registration and production safety responsibilities, and should timely register with the diplomatic and consular missions in Myanmar (Economic and Commercial Office) in accordance with the overseas investment management measures. We will strictly implement the production safety responsibility system in production and operation, maintain the bottom line of production safety, carry out in-depth risk investigation in key projects, high-risk industries and accident-prone areas, and fill in the shortcomings in a timely manner. Optimize internal management, strengthen care and care for Chinese and foreign employees, prevent and resolve conflicts and disputes, protect the legitimate rights and interests of migrant workers, and actively fulfill corporate social responsibilities.
