China was elected as a member of the first council of the International Navigation Organization with a high vote

From February 18 to 21, 2025, the first General Assembly of the International Navigation Labels Association (IALA) was held in Singapore. In the first IALA Council election held on February 20, China was elected as a member of the Council with a high vote.
China’s election with a high vote fully reflects the international community’s recognition of China’s long-term contribution to the field of maritime navigation assistance. China will continue to deepen international cooperation with an open attitude, promote the digital transformation and sustainable development of maritime navigation aids, and ensure the safety of maritime traffic.
Founded in 1957, the International Association of Navigation Standards (IALA’s predecessor) was officially transformed into an intergovernmental international organization on August 22, 2024. China was one of the first founding members of IALA.
