In Beijing, the South-to-North Water Diversion Project and the Miyun Reservoir have achieved a “handshake”, the water supply safety factor in the central urban area has been increased from 1.0 to 1.3, and some new urban areas such as the sub-center of the city have also used “south water”, and the proportion of “south water” in urban areas has increased to nearly 80%.

In Tianjin, the South-to-North Water Diversion Project covers 15 of the 16 administrative regions, and extends urban water supply to rural areas through projects to improve the quality and efficiency of drinking water in rural areas, comprehensively improving the drinking water quality of 2,817 villages and 2.868 million rural residents.

The relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Water Resources said that the Ministry of Water Resources will thoroughly implement the “National Water Network Construction Planning Outline”, accelerate the construction of the main skeleton and artery of the national water network, build a high-standard follow-up project to divert the river to supplement the Han River in the middle line, and improve the overall layout of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project as soon as possible, so as to provide a strong water security guarantee for comprehensively promoting the construction of a strong country and the great cause of national rejuvenation with Chinese-style modernization.
