2024 Annual Individual Income Tax Settlement 

From March 1, the 2024 annual individual income tax settlement will officially begin. Taxpayers who have made an appointment before can log in to the individual income tax APP on the appointment date to declare. If taxpayers only notice the appointment after the start of the reconciliation period on March 1, they can also log in to the individual income tax app and select any date from March 1 to March 20 to make an appointment. Taxpayers can also log in to the individual income tax app or the website of the electronic tax bureau for natural persons without making an appointment after March 21 to handle the annual tax settlement.

If there is a tax refund amount due after the annual tax settlement, the taxpayer can apply for a tax refund. The taxpayer completes the application process after checking the box “Apply for Tax Refund” in the corresponding column of the return and submitting it to the competent tax authority. The relevant departments will handle the tax refund after performing the necessary review procedures in accordance with the regulations, and the tax refund will be directly sent to the taxpayer’s bank account.

If a taxpayer needs to apply for the annual tax settlement, he or she can pay the tax payable through online banking, POS machine swiping card in the tax service hall, bank counter, non-bank payment (i.e., third-party payment), etc.

The tax department reminds that taxpayers should be responsible for the authenticity, accuracy and completeness of the declaration information, and should correct the overrefund or underpayment of tax in the annual final settlement due to the wrong filling in of the declaration information.

The deputy director of the individual income tax department of the Jilin Provincial Taxation Bureau of the State Administration of Taxation introduced to Daoqin that in previous years, during the annual reconciliation, some taxpayers reported that they had received calls or text messages claiming to be “tax inspection department personnel” and “tax authority staff”, and the other party claimed that they could speed up the arrival of the account through the “manual tax refund green channel”, and some people would lie that taxpayers were included in the tax inspection list.
