When the tenant wanted to quit the rent, the landlord took his relatives to take care of the furniture with lights, inspect the walls and squatting pits, calculate the damage of the objects and make a list to ask for compensation, and the tenant was asked for 10,000 yuan in compensation when he checked out of the 1,000 yuan rent.

However, not long after this incident, there was another “window removal and ash inspection” this year. As the name suggests, the window is removed to check for dust inside, so as to deduct the tenant’s deposit.
This makes one wonder, isn’t the landlord trying to deduct the deposit when the tenant checks out, and he can’t sleep well? What was the final outcome of this matter?

Before talking about this “window removal and ash inspection” incident, let’s first review the “lantern damage assessment” incident that frightened all tenants.
On September 5, 2023, in order to facilitate his son’s study, Chen shared a house with another woman, Wu, in Dongmen Village, Bingxi Street, with a monthly rent of 1,200 yuan.
After Chen moved in, the landlord began to make things difficult in every way, saying that he could not use the TV, saying that he could not eat in the living room, and even entered the tenant’s room at will without consent.

房东这一顿操作下来,屋内被贴满了大大小小的黄色胶带,单单是一个厨房柜门,上面就被贴了6处,而这也成为了房东之后索要赔偿的证据。

除此之外,就连客厅的塑料凳子也被贴上了胶带,这种凳子一个不过几块钱,房东却仔仔细细翻来覆去寻找有没有磨损的地方,认真程度甚至比质检员还要专业。

而更令人大吃一惊的是,在检查完客厅和卧室后,房东竟然连茅房也没放过,拿着灯对着蹲厕仔细检查了十几分钟,不仅查看有没有破损的地方,甚至连上面的灰尘都不放过,如此“敬业”的程度也是惊呆了网友。

在检查完所有的角落后,房东也列出了赔偿清单,什么淋浴的使用费、什么地板的磨损费,只要能想到的地方他便全写了上去,而这最终的目的就是想让租客赔偿。

一个月的房租才1200元,房东硬是找出了1万多元的定损费用,况且这房租陈某才住了不到一个月,就算有磨损那能磨损到什么程度。
“提灯定损”这件事在当时可谓是引得全网皆知,甚至就连春晚也出了一个小品来暗讽此事,然而这件“提灯定损”的风波还未过去,现如今又出现了一个更为离谱的“拆窗验灰”。
“拆窗验灰”

Due to work, Ms. Yuan needed to travel to another city, so she greeted the landlord early and moved her personal belongings out.
Because there is still a deposit in the landlord’s hand, Ms. Yuan still needs the landlord to inspect the house before she can leave completely, and then an aunt contacted Ms. Yuan and said that the house inspection work is her own responsibility, Ms. Yuan didn’t think much about it and went to the room to meet the aunt, but she didn’t expect her bad things to come.

In fact, as early as when Ms. Yuan checked out, she cleaned the room, and Ms. Yuan also thought that the house inspection was just a procedure, just take a general look.
But I didn’t expect the second landlord (aunt) to require the whole house to be cleaned inside and out, the floor of the kitchen and bathroom to be scrubbed with steel wool balls, and even required that the grid and steel pipe in the anti-theft net should not have any dust.

In the face of such an outrageous request, Ms. Yuan wanted to reason with the other party, but thinking that she was alone here, it was better not to cause trouble if she was not familiar with life, so she took a whole day to clean the place requested by the second landlord.
But even so, the second-hand landlord is still unwilling to return the deposit, sometimes saying that there is a missing screw on the doorknob and will deduct 40 yuan, and then saying that the bathroom floor is not clean and there is wear and tear will deduct 200 yuan.

But in fact, the screws on the doorknob were gone before Ms. Yuan moved in, and the tiles could not be wiped clean because of the aging of too long, but the other party still refused to give up and deducted money for various reasons.
In the face of such difficulties, Ms. Yuan didn’t plan to endure it any longer, so she immediately called the police, thinking that the arrival of the police would make the second landlord a little more restrained, but what she didn’t think was that it was even more outrageous to come.

Even the police are not afraid
After the police arrived, from a fair point of view, they also felt that Ms. Yuan cleaned the room very cleanly, but the second landlord still put on a posture of “not afraid of heaven and earth”, and before the police could say a fair word, the other party yelled directly: “Don’t interfere, I have the final say on the cleanliness standards!”
Such a fierce attitude also stunned the police, but before the police could react, he removed the window in front of him, pointed to the dust in the gap and said: Where is this clean!

In the face of such a scoundrel landlord, Ms. Yuan can be said to be bitter, and the police can only try their best to mediate, hoping that the second landlord will not be so harsh.
In the end, the other party deducted 100 yuan from the health fee, not to mention, even the original deposit of more than 3,000 yuan was only returned 2,150 yuan, and 1,075 yuan was not given.

The second landlord, who was criticized by netizens, also chose to admit it, saying that he wanted to negotiate with the tenant to refund other expenses, and then refund her rent and sanitation fees for a few days.
