An 8-year-old boy in Nanjing ran away from home with his schoolbag at night in anger with his mother

At about 8 o’clock in the evening on March 6, Zhang Guoqiang, a police officer from the Jurong Station Police Station of the Nanjing Railway Public Security Department, was on duty when he found a boy about 8 years old wandering alone at the exit of the station, looking panicked and his eyes were red, looking very helpless.

The police immediately stepped forward to inquire. The boy claimed that he wanted to take the high-speed train to Hebei to find his parents. Seeing that he was wandering alone at the station, carrying only a schoolbag, the police arranged for him to rest in the police duty room, handed him a cup of hot water, and softly soothed his emotions.

Under the repeated and patient communication of the police, the boy told the truth. It turned out that because he was dissatisfied with his mother’s discipline, he ran away on impulse, and actually took the subway all the way to Jurong from his home in Qinhuai District, Nanjing City, and wanted to take the high-speed rail to go elsewhere.

After learning of the incident, police officer Zhang Guoqiang quickly contacted the boy’s mother. At this time, an anxious Ms. Wang was looking for her child on the S6 line of the Nanjing Metro leading to Jurong. During the waiting period, the police turned into “temporary parents”, bought snacks for the children, patiently communicated with the children, and gradually resolved their knots.

At about 10 o’clock in the evening, the boy’s mother, Ms. Wang, rushed to Jurong Station, and when she saw that the child was safe and sound, she was moved to tears and thanked the police repeatedly.

The Jurong Station Police Station reminds parents to strengthen their guardianship responsibilities for their children and avoid letting them go out alone. Pre-adolescent children already have a sense of independence, and parents should establish equal and effective communication with their children and pay attention to their children’s inner needs. If you find that your child is missing, you must call the police for help as soon as possible.
