Two “sanitation workers”, one specializes in sweeping floors and the other specializes in washing floors. They can work alone, but also work together like “golden partners”, although they have different looks and skills, they all have a smart “AI brain”.
One of them walks in the style of a tough guy with a silver gray shell, equipped with a large suction cup brush head, with a sweeping width of 1.5 meters, specializing in the cleaning task of outdoor wide roads, and the other takes the cute route, with a round body and a soft and cute voice reminder – “let go of trouble”, not only good at cleaning, but also spraying detergent solution to wash the road surface with high pressure.

The reporter saw that when encountering pedestrians, stalls and other obstacles, the two “sanitation workers” will automatically stop and avoid, and after a short “thinking”, they will change the route to continue the cleaning task. When the trash hopper is full, they will automatically return to the “base” located near Evergrande City Plaza, a pedestrian street, to take out the garbage.
Mi Yanchao, deputy director of the Stone Coal Machinery Sanitation Equipment Research Institute, which is debugging the equipment on site, said that they are equipped with advanced sensors, cameras and on-board radars, which can obtain information about the surrounding environment in real time, combined with deep learning AI algorithms, to generate optimal driving paths and operation plans. In addition, through visual perception and intelligent recognition technology, they can flexibly respond to complex road conditions, easily complete difficult actions such as turning and climbing, and can also work efficiently on narrow roads and complex environments.
The two “sanitation workers” are not only smart, but also particularly “hard-working”.
At the work site, they move steadily at a “turtle speed” of 3 kilometers per hour, although the speed is a little slow, but as the so-called “slow work makes meticulous work”, this speed ensures that every inch of the road surface is swept clean, and no corner is missed. They work overtime late at night without complaints, and when they are “thirsty” and “hungry”, they can also return to the “base” to recharge and replenish water independently, and they can work for 6 hours at a time.
The AI sanitation robot is also very convenient to operate, and the staff only need to log in to the back-end cloud control management platform to monitor the operation status of the equipment in real time, remotely schedule operation tasks, and even make an appointment for the “on-duty” time, truly realizing the unmanned operation of the whole process.
Mi Yanchao told reporters that the two “new employees” are still in the internship period, and the company will combine the suggestions of sanitation workers to optimize the cleaning route and time of AI sanitation robots, which is expected to be widely used soon.
