The Ministry of Commerce responded to Japan's proposed implementation of a number of export control measures such as semiconductors

A spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce said on January 31 that for some time, some countries have generalized the concept of national security, abused export control measures, and imposed sanctions and suppression on China’s semiconductor and other industries. The export control measures proposed by the Japanese side will affect the security and stability of industrial and supply chains, interfere with normal business exchanges between enterprises, and harm the interests of enterprises of the two countries.

A reporter asked: On January 31, the Japanese government announced that it intends to implement export controls on more than 10 types of semiconductor-related items, and will include a number of Chinese companies in the “end-user list”. Do you have any comment? The spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce made the above response.

The spokesman said that at present, the Japanese side is soliciting opinions from the public on relevant measures. We hope that the Japanese side will listen to the rational voice of the industry, proceed from the overall situation of upholding international economic and trade rules and China-Japan economic and trade cooperation, correct relevant practices in a timely manner, avoid relevant measures hindering the healthy development of China-Japan economic and trade relations, and jointly maintain the stability and smoothness of global industrial and supply chains. China reserves the right to take measures to resolutely safeguard its legitimate rights and interests.
