At about 8 p.m. EST on February 1, the White House released a list of facts, announcing an additional 10% tariff on Chinese products exported to the United States on the grounds of fentanyl and other issues. China strongly deplores this and resolutely opposes it.
The unilateral imposition of tariffs by the US side seriously violates WTO rules, which is not only not conducive to solving its own problems, but also undermines normal economic and trade cooperation between China and the United States. China will file a lawsuit against the US against the wrong move of the US and will take corresponding countermeasures to firmly safeguard its own rights and interests.
China hopes that the US will view and handle its own fentanyl and other issues in an objective and rational manner, instead of threatening other countries with tariffs at every turn. China urges the US to correct its wrong practices, work with China in the same direction, face up to problems on the basis of equality, mutual benefit and mutual respect, engage in frank dialogue, strengthen cooperation and manage differences.
